The family-owned Giglachsee Hütte is situated at the upper end of Giglach cirque directly at the foot of Steirische Kalkspitze (2,459 m).

The cuisine of the hut offers typical snacks and dishes as well as drinks for the thirsty hiker and mountainbiker. On the sunny terrace with view to the lakes the hosts also offer coffee and home-made cake. On days with bad weather the cosy tile stove warms up the hikers.

Giglachsee Hütte is a private alpine hut and offers hot water, beds and communal bunkes for overnight stays.

Giglachsee Hütte is accessible via different routes:

• from Ursprungalm (1.5 hours)
• Mountain Lake Tour
• The Alps in Obertal valley

The hut is also endpoint for the alpine trail from Hochwurzen (approx. 6 hours) and stage point for the Schladminger Tauern alpine trail.
