The traditional alpine hut Keinprechthütte is situated at the foot of Zinkwand at 1,872 m above sea-level and surrounded by a fascinating alpine fauna and flora. The cuisine at the hut stands out with regional dishes and delicacies.

For trekkers and mountain lovers the hut offers the possiblity for an overnight stay. Keinprechthütte is an alpine hut of the Austrian Alpine Association (OEAV) and offers 11 beds and 38 spaces in communal bunkes.

Around the hut an impressive mountain panorama with Vetternspitze (2.524 m) and Zinkwand (2.442 m) dominates the scenery. The area around the hut was affected by mining activity up to the 19th century. Today the clearance cairns are evidence of the "moving" history of the mountains.

Keinprechthütte can be reached over various ways:

  • Eschachalm (approx. 2 hours)
  • Ursprungalm – Giglach lakes – Rotmandlspitze - Keinprechthütte (4-5 hours)

The hut is also a popular stop along the Schladminger-Tauern Alpine Trail, which is part of the n° 2 - Central Alpine Trail.
