Due to overhauling and repair works the alpine trail through Höll canyon in Untertal valley is closed at the moment.
The trail was first opened in October 2005. After more than 11 years of operation in exposed terrain it is now the first time that some larger maintenance work is necessary. The municipality of Schladming is the operator of the trail and the landmark bridge is keen to re-open the bridge as soon as possible - see press release of the municipality.
In order to access the alpine trail further up the canyon the municipality built a detour trail on the South bank/side of the waterfall (to the right when ascending). This detour connects from the wooden bridge over the "Großer Riesachwasserfall" waterfall to the alpine trail further up the canyon. Therefore the suspension bridge is the only part of the trail affected by the closing.
