The municipality of Schladming was again awarded in 2023 for the Wild Water theme trail. The title "Styrian Water Community 2023" was awarded by Sustainability Provincial Councilor Hans Seitinger.

Winter closures valley roads & alpine trails

In order to guarantee the wild animals the necessary rest in the valley areas of the Schladminger Tauern, winter closures come into effect every year.

Alpinsteig Höll

The Alpinsteig through the Höll is open for unrestricted walking from Thursday, 3rd June.

The Alpinsteig Höll is located above the largest waterfalls in Styria - the Riesach waterfalls in Rohrmoos Untertal. An experience for the whole family!

Hiking program 2021

You don't like to travel alone? Then you can join one of our guided tours. Together with our certified mountain guides you will discover the most beautiful places in the Schladming-Dachstein Region.

New in the program are the theme hiking weeks in spring and autumn, which focus on a specific adventure theme, such as "Spring Water" or "Golden Autumn"!

Likewise, this year there is always a herbal hike on Friday with our certified herbalist Ingrid!

The Schladming Tauern High Trail

A 5-day-tour along the Schladming Tauern High Trail
Running along the summits and ridge lines of the Schladming Tauern mountains are numerous high trails, which together form a trekking tour known as the “Schladminger Tauern Höhenweg”. This, in turn, represents part of Central Alpine Trail No. 02.

The multi-day-hike takes hikers on a broad loop from the
Hochwurzen in Rohrmoos to the Planai in Schladming. Lying in between are 5 stages along paths which, in some cases, look back on a long and fascinating history, with numerous summiteering adventures, breathtaking panoramas, friendly and inviting huts along the way, here amid an Alpine world teeming with an abundance of water in every form.

A taste of Schladming is a new package offered by the tourist office of Schladming and is the perfect choice if you want to experience an overnight at a mountain refuge for the first time.

Being active in summer with the tourist office Schladming

While our hiking guides at the moment is guiding winter walks and snowshoeing tours throughout Schladming's winterwonderland, we already set up the "BergAKTIV" programme with guided hiking tours in summer.

Also, we fixed the schedule for the Family JOKER Schladming, which comes with big news this year, as it also takes place during the first two weeks of October for the first time.
